A little bit about me... I am currently in my fifth year at CHS as an Exceptional Children's teacher, and in my tenth year of teaching overall. I moved to North Carolina from Florida four years ago, and I enjoy living in Asheville. I am married to my best friend of 22 years and have three beautiful children ages 15, 12, and 3 years old.
Teaching is a second career for me. After graduating from University of West Florida in 1998 with a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, I began working in the juvenile justice field. While I enjoyed working with delinquent youth, I found my influence on their future was limited by their judicial predicaments. After five years, I decided to return to school and earned my master's degree in Special Education from the University of South Florida in 2007.
I sincerely love what I do; working at CHS has been an awesome and rewarding experience. I do have a specific goal for the near future. I would love to develop curriculum, write a textbook, and encourage school districts to offer basic Introduction to Law classes geared to the juvenile learner. Education is prevention.
