B-CATS

(Buncombe County’s Alternative To Suspension)

 

WHAT: BCATS is an alternative & optional program for students who have recently been suspended from their base school.

 

WHEN:  Students have the option of attending BCATS for the length of their suspension* (if they comply with the rules of BCATS).

 

WHERE:  Students from all 6 of BuncombeCounty’s High Schools may serve their suspension here, on Community High School’s Campus.

 

How:  When in BCATS, students keep up with their academic classes by completing the work they are missing during their suspension.  Students also participate in counseling while they are here.


Why: 
BCATS tries to provide skills (both academic and behavioral) to students that will lead them to be naturally successful.  We ask students to GROWwhile in BCATS, and in order to GROW, one must be willing to CHANGE
